Project Audit and Project Mentorship for Client Solution Implementations

A Third Party Logistics (3PL) company serves tier 1 healthcare organizations. These healthcare clients are very mature in their project methods, and expect the same maturity and rigour from their service providers. The 3PL was sound in its execution; but lacked in project management methods. This gap was frequently unnerving to clients who were accustomed to mature project disciplines within their own environment and with other large-scale partners.

Worked with 3PL to formalize project methods from project initiation to project closure. The methods were comprehensive and could be tailored to the specific needs of the project. Methods were rolled out across departments to implement the ‘Company Way’ in which projects would be undertaken.

The 3PL can now “do” projects with tier 1 clients in a structured and predicable way – not to say that issues won’t arise within the project workings; however, there are now conventional methods to deal with them. Projects are initiated with the proper authorities, planned in a conventional way, executed with predicable artifacts, and closed with a lessons learned process, that contributes to the continuous improvement of projects within the organization.
